| PRESS RELEASE - JB FOODS (SCOTLAND) LTD ACQUIRES DOUBLE A ICE | JB Foods (Scotland) Ltd are delighted to announce it’s acquisition of Double A Ices on 3rd March 2008. Double A Ices are the largest independent ice cream wholesaler in Scotland, specialising in big brand ice creams within scooping, retail impulse bars and lollies. In addition to the ice cream range we will also be doing an extensive range of retail convenience frozen foods for corner stores and shops. Being a member of Ice Cream World means bigger buying power resulting in our customers getting much better pricing than the competition along with a first class service.
So why the acquistion? Double A Ices has over 30 years trading, with the same core values on service as JB Foods being a family business, thus we can now offer a one stop shop in both Retail and Foodservice, bringing big opportunities in big brands, main factory support, freezers deals etc, as well as opening up and enhancing our deliveries and distribution areas. JB Foods are now able to offer a daily delivery service covering a geographical area from as far north as Aberdeen to south of Newcastle, by our cross docking stations in Dundee and Berwick as well as our main depot in Loanhead.
With the imminent merge of the two company’s supplier and customer databases, this will bring a company of which will be the most diverse ice cream wholesaler in Scotland. Brands now available will be at a National, European and International level. One the trends noted by the consumer recently is the importance of regional origins and high quality of a product. We can now offer the following brands from all corners of Scotland: Ashers of Stirling; Rizza of Huntly; Porelli’s of Paisley; Mackies Aberdeenshire, Cream of Galloway and Orkney. More and more emphasis is on using local produce and why not promote Scotland with its heritage of premier dairy farms. On a UK basis we can offer both Nestle, Richmond and Walls and internationally, Movenpick of Switzerland; Haagen Daz and Ben & Jerry’s. On top of the extensive range of ice cream we can also offer a one stop shop for all ice cream accessories ranging from wafers, toppings to exclusive glass ware, marketing support and selling techniques for ice cream. A dedicated sales team will be on hand for all your requirements of freezers, point of sale and offering all relevant expertise to the ever growing and exciting world of ice cream.
